Todays tutorial will show you how to add Apps to your Facebook page and how to change the image used in the tabs section. When someone clicks onto your Facebook page, the first three things they see is your cover photo, profile photo and the tabs. You need to make a good first impression and these three areas should display who you are and what you do. Apps allow users to add engaging content without their readers having to leave Facebook – check out my Facebook page as an example.
Change the Tab Images & Title of Apps
Create graphics 111 pixels wide by 74 pixels in height. I recommend using GIMP which is a free alternative to Photoshop – see video tutorials on using GIMP. I also have some premade Facebook tab images in the design shop if you don’t want to make your own. On your Facebook page, click the arrow on the right of your tabs. If you hover over a tab, a pencil will appear. Click this and choose edit settings from the drop down menu. Then click Change next to Custom Image Tab, it will open a new page, click on the image to upload your new custom one and save.
Add some Apps
Log into Facebook profile account. Visit your Facebook page, click the arrow next to your tabs. Hover over a tab and click on the pencil that appears to add or remove apps. You can also move all tabs except the photo one by swapping the position. There are plenty of apps to choose from but don’t go crazy. Here are some of the apps I use on the xomisse page – Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram and for external pages or HTML code. If you have a online shop you can add Apps like Etsy or Shopify. Remember only 3 tabs plus your photos show so choose your favourite to go first.
Leave your blog or websites Facebook page below
If you try this out let me know, I’d love to see what you come up with and what apps you add. Leave a link to your Facebook page below and I’ll go “like” it. My Facebook pages are xomisse & misseblog.
